New England Tech Hires New Director of Nursing

Darlene DelPrato, PhD, RN, will serve as Professor and Director of Nursing at New England Institute of Technology for the college’s Associate in Science degree program in Nursing.  Her responsibilities also include new program development.

Prior to joining NEIT, DelPrato’s career included clinical experience in medical-surgical, labor and delivery, and cardio-thoracic intensive care. She taught and served as course chair at St. Joseph’s College of Nursing in Syracuse, NY.  At the State University of New York Institute of Technology (SUNYIT) in Utica, NY, DelPrato was the Program Coordinator for the Master of Science degree in Nursing Education program as well as Chair and Associate Professor in the Department of Nursing and Health Professions. She is an accomplished writer, researcher, and presenter.

DelPrato holds a PhD in Higher Post-Secondary Education from Syracuse University School of Education; a Master of Science degree in Clinical Nurse Specialist, Maternal-Newborn and Women’s Health Nursing from Syracuse University School of Nursing; a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Nursing from Mercy College; and a diploma in nursing from St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing in Syracuse, NY.
