The school was evacuated and no suspicious device was found. School will be held tomorrow, Jan. 5.

EAST GREENWICH, RI -- At 11:30 a.m., an anonymous caller notified the Eldredge School about a bomb. Students were evacuated to St. Luke's and the Swift Gymnasium, according to published reports.
Superintendent Victor Mercurio issued this statement:
"The local authorities were contacted immediately, and the students were swiftly and safely evacuated from the building to an alternative location per district threat protocol. Once the building was safely evacuated, the local and state authorities worked collaboratively to search the building thoroughly in order to secure it. While this search was taking place, students were released to their parents/guardians and dismissed for the day. The search has been completed, no threat to the school was found, and the building was cleared after inspection and deemed safe at 1:15 PM this afternoon," he wrote.
