Man Throws Rock At Car In East Greenwich: Cops

The rock thrower was "walking aimlessly around" Panera before he hurled the stone at the car, police said.

EAST GREENWICH, RI — A man threw a rock at an occupied vehicle parked in the Panera lot, police said.

Joseph Colon Santos, 26, was arrested on charges of vandalism and disorderly conduct in connection with the incident at the Panera on Division Road, according to an East Greenwich Police Department report.

Colon Santos threw the rock at the black Honda Accord, damaging its hood, shortly after 5 a.m. Friday, according to the report.

An officer responding to a report of the attack spotted a man matching a description of the rock thrower walking into the nearby Cumberland Farms, the report said.

"As I approached the gas station, I asked a patron who was pumping gas, 'Did that male in black just walk here on foot?'" an officer said in the report. "The patron responded, 'Yeah, he just walked out of the woods right there,' while pointing in a southwest direction toward Division" Street.

The officer walked into the gas station and "located the male as he walked out of the men's restroom," according to the report.

"He immediately assumed a posture of defeat, with his shoulders slouched and a discouraged facial expression, and placed his hands behind his back," the report said.
