Cole Drama Club Presents Disney's Aladdin, Jr.
Family friendly version of the Disney musical on May 6 and May 7 performed by the Archie R. Cole Middle School Drama Club

“A Whole New World” arrives in East Greenwich as the award winning Cole Middle School Drama Club performs “Disney’s Aladdin Jr.” on Friday, May 6th at 7:00 PM. and Saturday, May 7th at 4:00 PM. in the High School Auditorium. This condensed version of Disney’s Aladdin, designed specifically for younger audiences, takes you to the city of Agrabah with the street rat who becomes a prince! All of your favorite characters from the hit Disney film – Aladdin, Jasmine, Iago, Jafar, the Genie and more – are here in a musical adventure filled with magic, mayhem, and flying carpet rides. Disney’s Aladdin Jr. is based on the screenplay by Ron Clements, John Musker, Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio, and features music composed by Alan Menken with song lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice. It is presented through arrangement with Music Theater International.
Director Mimi Scheff and music director Katie Healy oversee a cast of 47 students. An additional 50 students serve as crew for the performance. Danielle Salisbury and Barbara Brusini are the Drama Club advisors and the producers of the show. The students involved have spent the past 11 weeks learning lines, rehearsing choreography, singing, designing props, building sets, and creating make-up and costumes. The cast is headlined by Liam Salisbury as Alladin, Lola Verret as the Genie, Madeline Brooks as Princess Jasmine, Jack Larson as Jafar, Miguel Figueroa as the Sultan, and Anna De Cesare as Iago.
Both of the Drama Club’s productions last year – The Little Mermaid Jr. and Willy Wonka Jr. – were nominated for multiple awards for performance and production by the Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild. The Little Mermaid Jr. received awards in the Best Acting Ensemble, Best Specialty Ensemble, and Best Costume Design and Execution categories.

Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Cole Middle School main office or at the door, if available, for $10 each.
