Conference: Scams & Older Adults
The Commission for Safety and Care of the Elderly is hosting an Information and Resource Conference for Police and Fire Advocates.

From The RI Commission: The RI Commission for Safety and Care of the Elderly is hosting an Information and Resource Conference for Police and Fire Advocates, focusing on Scams and the Older Adult. Financial scams targeting seniors have become so prevalent that they’ve been called “the crime of the 21st century.” Scams are devastating to many older adults and can leave them in a very vulnerable position with little time to recoup their losses.
The RI Division of Elderly Affairs is joining with the RI Commission for Safety and Care of Elderly, Police and Fire Advocates, and other community partners to design and develop comprehensive resources that help support individuals who are victims of scams, and to and educate seniors to recognize and avoid falling victim of scammers.
