East Greenwich, RI – July 10, 2015 - The East Greenwich Animal Protection League (EGAPL), a no-kill 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization, will be hosting a day of family fun complete with a visit from Miss Rhode Island 2015, Alexandra Curtis, who will be available for photos and a meet & greet from 12-2pm, and Miss RI’s Outstanding Teen 2015, Catarina Girardi.

The “Puppies, Pageant Queens & Popcorn” event – complete with kitties, too - will be an outdoor event held rain or shine on Saturday, July 18th from 10:00am – 3:00pm at the shelter, located at 4302 Post Road, East Greenwich, RI.
Local favorite Frenchy’s Popcorn will be there all day with popcorn, cotton candy, sno cones and more. The Brandi Project, which provides financial and educational support to dog-rescue organizations, will also be on site selling merchandise including T-shirts and car decals to help support its mission. Additionally, 200 raffle tickets will be available for $20.00 a piece for a chance to win two tickets to see a New England Patriots game this season. Groovy Gator, an upscale Newport-based children’s clothing store, will be hosting a fashion show at 2:00pm.

“We are proud to be part of such a wonderful community and are always excited for the opportunity to invite everyone over to have some fun – all while raising awareness for the many animals we have that are looking for homes,” said president Tammy Flanagan. “It’s going to be a great day with activities the whole family will enjoy; and we hope some families will even choose to adopt a new furry friend.”

EGAPL will be holding adoption hours all day to find homes for their many adoptable –and adorable - animals, including puppies, kittens, and adult dogs and cats. Don’t miss out on this fun-filled day which will have something for everyone – and all to benefit a good cause.
