Thursday, April 3, marked the third year for the East Greenwich Public Schools’ “Spring String Fling.” Students in grades 4 – 8 from Eldredge and Hanaford Elementary Schools and Cole Middle Schol who play violin, viola, cello and bass showcased their talents at Cole Middle School. Each level performed songs starting with grade four so the audience could see and hear the progress that is made by eighth grade. At the end, all string players performed a grand finale of two fiddle tunes, “Bile Them Cabbage Down” and “Old Joe Clark.” There were almost one hundred and fifty string students performing! It was an evening of fiddling, food and fun! Thanks to all students, parents and community members who support our music program
