East Greenwich Woman Wins SBA Home-Based Business of the Year Award
Patricia Raskin is the host of a nationally-recognized talk show, producer, speaker, writer— a whirlwind of talent, really.

An East Greenwich woman who made a career out of having a positive outlook and has helped countless people overcome obstacles through her radio show, books and speaking appearances is being recognized by the U.S. Small Business Administraton.
Patricia Raskin, host of the Patricia Raskin Positive Living Show that airs on Sundays on WPRO, is set to receive the SBA’s 2015 Home-Based Business of the Year Award.
Raskin is a nationally-recognized media personality, award-winning producer, speaker, transition coach and author.

“I help listeners turn their obstacles into opportunities and challenges into solutions to make their dreams come true through my interviews with the ‘best of the best’ motivational, spiritual, health, and self-improvement experts,” Raskin said. “In a media environment primarily filled with negativity, and especially in an almost exclusive talk show environment that leads with negativity, I’m thrilled to bring my message of positive outlook to my listeners and clients - and I’m especially thrilled to be recognized by the RI SBA for my work.”
Raskin said that she believes in positive messaging, which gives people hope.

“Thoughts become things and I have seen miraculous positive outcomes from dire circumstances,” she said. “It requires a different way of thinking, not based on fear. In the process, we need to look at the problems and circumstances and find those ‘windows of light.’ Finding solutions to life’s common challenges through practical advice through the airwaves crosses all demographics, cultures, ages, and genders.”
The SBA Award is presented for exhibiting “staying power, innovativeness, response to adversity, and making contributions to community-oriented projects”.
Patricia Raskin’s Positive Living Radio program is in its eighth year on Cumulus Broadcasting’s 630 WPRO and is heard on Saturdays from 3 to 6 p.m.
She produced and hosted one of the first programs on Internet radio and for the last 13 years, her program “Patricia Raskin Positive Living” has aired on Mondays at 2 p.m. on Voice America.
Over the past 30 years, Patricia has interviewed nearly 2,000 guests and her programs have aired on Fox, PBS and NPR affiliates, WTKF, 107.3FM and Blog Talk Radio. Patricia has also authored two books: “Success, Your Dream and You”and “Pathfinding: 7 Principles for Positive Living,” and is working on her third book soon to be published.
Raskin is an active member of Temple Emanu-el in Providence, the East Greenwich Chamber of Commerce, SBR Network, and presents keynote talks for many local organizations.
