The goal came off a nice drive from Alex Fontaine and Kevin Mason, it was put in by Jason Peduto. Then with 2 minutes left in the period East Greenwich went down again by a Saint Rays goal.

The second period was hard fought on both ends, with multiple scoring chances however no one was able to score. Both teams had two penalties each giving the other team a power play. With some inspirational words said by the coach, the East Greenwich squad was able to rally together as a team and score 5 goals in the third period. The first goal came 2 minutes into the period by Jason Peduto assisted by Kevin Mason and Merrick Villenueve. This trio proved that it had the magic touch because they were able to work off each other and score another 4 goals.

Conor Finn stopped 26 of the 28 shots he faced and was able to keep the Avengers in the game. The defense was sound all night long keeping Saint Rays to only two goals.

Middletown 7 East Greenwich 2

Middletown has a great record and East Greenwich was looking to avenge another win in order to keep the playoff dream alive. It would take a lot of hard work and determination. Middletown had a deep bench that East Greenwich would have to try to match with only 2 lines.

In the first period, it didn't take long for the Middletown team to capitalize on an EG mistake. After that the Avengers fought hard to get it back and they had many chances they were just unable to score. Then before the close of the period Middletown was able to strike again making to score 2 to 0.

The game had gone back and forth but quickly into the second period Middletown scored a quick two goals right in a row. East Greenwich took a time out to try to regroup, they switched the goalies and looked to try and salvage the game before it got out of hand.

The second period continued on and East Greenwich was given multiple opportunities to score but they were unable to. And again Middletown was able to put in another goal before the close of the period making the score 5 to 0 going into the locker room at the intermission.

Coming out in the third period East Greenwich had some pep to its step trying to make up for the five goal deficit. They were able to score 2 quick goals. One by Peduto and one by Merrick Villenueve. Middletown as well was able to score 2 goals due to the penalty filled third period.

East Greenwich looks to next weekend where they have two home games and will be able to try for a two game win weekend. The first game is against Portsmouth at West Warwick at 9:30 and then Saturday night against Coventry at 8:00.
