In an unrelated incident, East Greenwich police arrested Tabora on Sept. 16 on a warrant issued by Woonsocket Police for a felony assault charge. He was arrested in the parking lot of of 353 Main Street and turned over to Woonsocket Police.

In that case, Tabora is due to appear in court on Nov. 20 for a prearraignment disposition conference in Sixth Division District Court.

Tabora, in 2007, ran afoul with federal authorities after he allegedly attempted to extort his wife’s boss by impersonating a Homeland Security agent and threatened to deport him and have his name put on the terrorist watch list unless a bribe was paid.

Tabora reportedly pleaded guilty to those charges, which were eventually dismissed in Feb. 2008, according to court records.
