EG Parks and Rec. Offers Programs to Beat Winter Break Boredom
Go bowling, be a chef for a day, test your wits at Patriot's Place.

The East Greenwich Parks and Recreation Department is offering a slew of activities this winter break to keep the kids busy.
Registration begins on Nov. 17, so now is the time to plan ahead.
Children may either sign up for a whole day of activities or simply a trip or a project.

Be sure to get your registration form into the office prior to November 17th or your on-line registration account set up before November 17th. In-hand forms will be drawn lottery style on November 17th and residents signing up with their on-line accounts can begin signing up at 8:30am. Camper-ships and reduced fees are available for those on public assistance. Flyers and registration forms are available at the office, the Town Hall, and on the web at www.eastgreenwichri.com.
The department will continue to offer a full day program for the youths needing extended day hours, except on 12/24 and 12/31, which will be half days. The office will be open at 8:30am and close at 5:00pm. On half days the office will be open at 8:30am and close at 12:00pm. The children will participate in the scheduled trips and activities. No alternative activities are planned, so sign up now to secure a spot. There is an extra fee for the extended day option.

Activities begin on Wednesday, December 24th with a trip to Pizzeria Uno where the participants will be “Chefs for a Day”. The trip begins with a tour of the kitchen followed up with a make your own personal pizza event. The bus departs at 9:30am and returns at 11:30am.
On Monday, December 29th from 9:30-10:30am, POW Science will be hosting a hands-on workshop at the Parks & Recreation office titled, Marbles, Tracks & Ramps, which will demonstrate force and motion. Space is limited so sign up early! In the afternoon, the group heads off to Narragansett Ocean Club for some roller skating from 12:30-3:30pm.
On Tuesday, December 30th, there will be a trip to 5Wits at Patriot’s Place. The group will work in teams to try and solve two challenges that lie before them using hand-on, interactive, walk through puzzles that open clues to solve the mission. The bus departs at 9:00am and returns at 1:00pm. Tuesday afternoon we are off to Kingstown Bowl for some bowling. The bus will depart at 1:45pm and returns at 3:45pm.
On Wednesday, December 31st, Clayground is our destination for a paint your own pottery event. Participants will choose a piece, design and paint it in their own unique style. The bus departs at 9:15am and returns at 11:00am.
