EGAPL Needs a New Home
Volunteer-run organization that has sheltered homeless cats and dogs for thirty-five years now finds itself without a home as of April 1st

The East Greenwich Animal Protection League (EGAPL) has sheltered homeless cats and dogs for thirty-five years, but now they find themselves without a home. The League has boarded adoptable animals at local animal hospitals since their inception because the Town of East Greenwich does not have a municipal shelter. EGAPL has been at the East Greenwich Animal Hospital since 2014, but the animal hospital is closing its doors for financial reasons on April 1, 2015.
The League has been raising funds for their own building over the past year, but the cost to purchase will be high and progress is slow. Even if funds and a building are found, it will take months to prepare a building for a shelter environment. EGAPL will need to house their animals and find a space for adopters to meet them in the meantime.
The League is currently looking for another area animal hospital or similar environment to board their animals and allow adopters access. If you can help the League find temporary or permanent shelter, please contact President Tammy Flanagan at 401-241-4541 or e-mail egaplevents@gmail.com.
