EGHS Civic Action Club to host forum for Town Council and School Committee candidates

A press release for Meet the Candidates Night, a forum for Town Council and School Committee candidates run by the EGHS Civic Action Club

All are welcome to attend the “Meet the Candidates Night” for the Town Council and School Committee candidates running in the November 8th general election.

The event is hosted by the East Greenwich High School Civic Action Club, a group of politically minded students focused on making positive change in their community.

Come listen to the candidates answer student-based questions in a forum style event, and get the chance to speak with the candidates individually after. Each of the two forums, one for Town Council and one for School Committee, will include the candidates giving a one-minute introduction, a two-minute address of the "most important town issue (Town Council)/school issue (school committee)," and lastly, two, one-minute lightning rounds which involve candidates answering a question given to them individually. The lightning round questions were written by East Greenwich High School students in social studies classrooms.
