EG Historic District Walking Tour

East Greenwich historian and author, Bruce MacGunnigle, will lead a walking tour of the town's historic hill neighborhood along Peirce Street and Main Street on Saturday, September 15th, 10am. The one-mile, 1 1/2 hour tour sponsored by Friends of the East Greenwich Free Library,will begin at the Library, 82 Peirce Street, and include Rose Cottage, the Boy Scout House, the Elms, and more. The walking tour will end with a tour inside 71 Peirce Street, the home of Trevor Cain, who has restored a 19th century building that formerly housed a church rectory and the URI extension service. Refreshments will be served at the library after the tour. There is no charge for the tour, but a guide to the hill and harbor district will be available for $2.00.
