Gas Drops Below $3 in Part of R.I.--But Not in East Greenwich

The last time gas was this cheap was more then four years ago.

Gas prices are at their lowest levels in Rhode Island in more than four years.

Gas at the Geko station in Providence dropped to $2.99 a gallon this week, according to GasBuddy.

In East Greenwich, prices were still well above $3 a gallon. Here were the lowest prices as of Tuesday:

The average price of gas statewide was $3.28—9 cents higher than the national average, according to the Associated Press. Prices have been driven down by low demand and abundant supply.
