Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Come to the EGAPL Hound Hike!

Enjoy the nice weather on Sunday while supporting a great cause - for paws!

The idyllic weather forecast for this weekend will surely have Rhode Islanders looking for outdoor activities, as we enjoy what may be the last spell of summer weather for the year. What better way to spend the day than at Goddard Park? Sunday happens to be East Greenwich Animal Protection League’s 18th annual Hound Hike, the no-kill rescue organization’s largest fundraiser of the year. You’re welcome to bring your own canine companion to participate in the two-mile walk (as long as they are leashed, healthy and UTD on shots. Don’t have a dog? No worries! Many of EGAPL’s adoptable residents will be there waiting to meet you!

Local vendors will be on hand with samples of pet-related treats and information. Music, raffles, and a free lunch will also be provided as part of this fun-filled day for a great cause. Fee per hiker is $20.00. Registration begins at 12:00 pm at the carousel/beach area and the 2-mile walk starts at 1:00 pm (rain or shine).

EGAPL is currently raising money to buy a building that will serve as its own Adoption Center, so this year’s fundraiser is especially important. If you can’t attend the Hound Hike but would like to donate towards the new building, donations can be made at https://www.tilt.com/campaigns/the-pawsabilities-capital-campaign/description
