NH Hospital Shooting: Warwick Man Held Without Bail
Travis Frink, of Warwick, pleaded Not Guilty at his arraignment Wednesday afternoon in Grafton Superior Court.

WARWICK, RI—Travis Frink, the man accused of shooting and killing his 70-year-old mother while she lay in intensive care at a New Hampshire hospital, pleaded not guilty to a first-degree murder charge. Pamela Ferriere died after she was shot "more than" one time, the state Attorney Genera said earlier. Frink was arraigned in Grafton (New Hampshire) Superior Court on Wednesday afternoon. He waived a reading of the charge.
Dressed in a bright red jersey top and white and gray horizontal stripe prison issue pants, he was led into court in handcuffs and leg shackles. The judge ordered him to be held without bail and added a condition he is not to contact his step-father, Robert Ferriere, of New Hampshire.
Frink, 49, faces life in prison, if he's convicted.

According to the court affidavit, the Associated Press reports, a nurse saw Frink with the gun and hid, then called 911 after two shots rang out. Robert Ferriere witnessed the shooting. He told police Frink asked to see his mother, and she agreed. He asked his step-father to leave. As Ferriere was walking out, he heard his wife scream. He went back and then saw the shooting. Frink then walked past him and did not speak. Ferriere told police he had no idea about the motive.
