Hans J. "Chuck" Runshe, 67 of East Greenwich, died peacefully on May 10, 2015.

Hans J. “Chuck” Runshe, 67 of East Greenwich, died peacefully on May 10, 2015.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 36 years, Deborah A. (Caparco) Runshe.
Born in Frankfurt, Germany he was the son of Raymond Runshe and the late Edith (Kreher) Runshe. Chuck retired from the Providence VA Medical Center, where he had been a hospital administrator.

He had formerly worked at the Bedford VA Medical Center and other VA Hospitals throughout the country.
After retiring from the VA, he worked at Hill Funeral Home with his wife and family.

He was a graduate of Florida International University, a US Air Force Vietnam Veteran, a communicant and former extraordinary minister at Our Lady of Mercy Church, a member of numerous veteran and civic organizations and organizer of many charitable organizations.
A talented artist, Chuck’s paintings were displayed at many art shows and festivals, including the Scituate and Wickford Art Festivals. He enjoyed photography and documented the smiles of many family and friends through the years. He was a sports enthusiast and excelled at golf, bowling and tennis.
Chuck had a contagious laugh and a gleaming smile that made strangers feel like friends. He was a loving husband and adoring father. He was admired by many and loved by all. He will be sadly missed.
Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children, Michael R. Runshe and Brianna C. Runshe; his father, Raymond Runshe; his brother Robert Runshe; his father in law Michael E. Caparco and his wife Johanne; his “sister” Betsy M. Caparco Harris and her husband John and his extended Atria Bay Spring family.
A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, May 16th at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 Third St., East Greenwich.
Burial with military honors was in St. Patrick Cemetery, East Greenwich.
In lieu of flowers donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital would be appreciated.
