Paddling Across Rhode Island - March 24 Program at EG Free Library

The Friends of the East Greenwich Library will present "Paddling Across Rhode Island" on Thursday, March 24th at 6:30pm.

Join us for an exciting evening learning about the unique canoe adventure of Chuck Horbert and his friends! In the summer of 2014 Chuck Horbert, wetlands supervisor for the state DEM, and three friends were the first to successfully paddle their canoes and kayaks through the entire state, from north to south. Chuck will share their adventures on this 8-day trip with slides and stories. A board member of the Blueways Alliance, Chuck wants to show everyone how to get out and enjoy nature up close. He plans to bring his canoe for closer inspection. For more information about the trip and the journey from North Smithfield to Westerly, visit the web site at http://www.exploreri.org/paddle_across_ri.html, or email Chuck at chorbert@gmail.com. The event is free an open to the public, refreshments will be available during the presentation. The Friends of East Greenwich Free Library are an all-volunteer organization dedicated to supporting and enhancing library services.
