• EG Football: Avengers Shut Out Islanders, 28-0 (eastgreenwichnews.com) — East Greenwich fans just saw the Avengers dominate Middletown 28-0 at their home opener on Carcieri Field, with standout performances from Brian Gibbs and Spencer Padula on both sides of the ball. The shutout win follows last week's victory over Ponaganset, and the team now looks ahead to hosting Central Falls on Friday, Sept. 25.
