Upon arrival, police found the unit’s electrical wiring and copper pipe connections to the building had been cut in an apparent attempted theft. The unit was bolted to a pair of posts for stability, thwarting the culprit.

But police noticed two other HVAC units alongside 58 Main Street, which shares an alley with the Grille on Main, had been stolen.

Police contacted the property owner of 58 Main St. to notify him of the damage.

B&E
Police are investigating an alleged breaking and entering that occurred at a Middle Road home sometime in October but wasn’t discovered until recently when the homeowners started noticing items missing.

Police said the resident reported the crime on Nov. 4 after realizing she couldn’t locate several coins.

She first noticed on Oct. 15 that a pillowcase was missing from her bed in the master bedroom. She didn’t think much of it and “went on with her life,” according to a police report.

But a week later, her husband noticed his collection of coins were missing from his dresser. Than she noticed a picture holder with a few coins in it was missing from her office shelf. It was then that she realized they might be the victims of a break-in and called police.

Police are investigating.

STEREO SYSTEM STOLEN
Police said a truck parked for a period of time at Flood Ford on South County Trail had its stereo system stolen.

Police said they were contacted from a parts manager on Nov. 4 at around 1 p.m. who told them that he went to work on the truck and found the front dashboard had been pulled apart and the radio system as well as amplifier had been stolen from the truck.

The truck reportedly was dropped off on Sept. 29 and had sat in the lot for some time due to an insurance dispute, police said.

The owner of the truck said he also had $28 cash, a watch and a diamond ring inside the truck.

Police are investigating.

POLICE CHECK SCHOOL AFTER REPORT
East Greenwich officers responded to Frenchtown Elementary School on Nov. 6 at around 1:37 p.m. after a first grader reported seeing a man on the roof, possibly with a gun.

In the end, there was nobody on the roof, police said, but officers checked the building thoroughly to be sure.

DOMESTIC
Police charged William Conrad Poole, 42, of 1050 Greenwich Ave., Warwick, with domestic disorderly conduct and domestic simple assault, third offense, a felony, Nov. 3 at 1:38 p.m.

Police said Poole was wanted on the charges dating back to July of 2012 and was arrested by West Warwick police on Nov. 4 after he allegedly was seen urinating in someone’s back yard.

On Nov. 7, police charged Douglas Ernest Charest, 18, of 1566 Division Road, East Greenwich, with domestic disorderly conduct at around 9 a.m.
