Provant Names new CIO

Veteran senior-level technology innovator Thomas Basiliere has joined Provant, a leading national population health management company, as chief information officer.

Basiliere, who has three decades of application development, business intelligence and leadership experience, will be responsible for developing new capabilities that improve the impact of clients’ worksite wellness programs.

“Tom brings extensive experience and knowledge to Provant. His history of effecting transformational change across a variety of industries positions him well to lead our data strategy,” said Provant CEO Heather Provino. “We see exciting potential in technology for our business and our clients. Tom will help us take advantage of these possibilities.”

Basiliere has spent the last seven years as vice president and CIO of Wolters Kluwer responsible for technology strategy for UpToDate, a tool that helps doctors make evidence-based decisions at the point of care. He was instrumental in developing the company’s mobile application strategy and team that brought UpToDate to the iPhone.

Prior to that, he was vice president of information technology at Deluxe Corporation in charge of the small business solutions vendor’s CRM, direct marketing and back-office information systems. He led the 90-day integration of a $30 million subsidiary onto the company’s central technology platform, resulting in $1 million incremental sales and $500,000 annual savings.

Basiliere began his career as a programmer at Paul Revere Insurance, steadily gaining responsibility through stints at Fidelity Investments, Mellon Bank/The Boston Company and New England Business Services. He is a member of the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council and earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of New Hampshire.
