A New York City man was charged after police stopped him for traveling too close to a bus.

WEST GREENWICH, RI— Bad driving led to a New York City man's arrest Friday. State police stopped him for a traffic violation but then smelled $70,000 worth of marijuana in his car. Yin Liu, 30, was carrying 34 pounds of marijuana, state police said, when Hope Valley Barracks troopers pulled him over on I-95 in West Greenwich.
Troopers stopped him for following too close to a large passenger bus.
"During the traffic stop," police said, "troopers detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. They also observed three large laundry style bags in the rear cargo area. A search of these bags revealed 34 one-pound vacuum-sealed bags containing suspected marijuana."
