Rocky Hill School Welcomes New Coaches for Spring 2018

The newcomers will coach sailing, boys' lacrosse and tennis.

From Rocky Hill School: Rocky Hill School is proud to announce the hiring of four new coaches for the Spring of 2018.

Kira Munger, Team Race Coach - Upper School Sailing

Kira Munger of Newport, RI has more than a decade of professional experience coaching team and fleet racing. She skippered for Christopher Newport University in Virginia and actively races at the local and national level in many boat classes, including J24, Lightening, and Thistle. Kara was raised in Fair Haven, NY, where she sailed on Lake Ontario and the Finger Lakes.

Matt Mensinger, Assistant Coach - Upper School Boys’ Lacrosse

Matt Mensinger of East Greenwich, RI, a Minnesota native, attended Carleton College where he was the president, player, and coach of the Men’s Lacrosse Club during his senior year. He also captained the Varsity Football and club hockey teams. Matt currently works as a marine fisheries observer out of Point Judith, RI.

Jared Zimmer ’89, Head Coach - Middle School Boys’ Lacrosse

While a student at Rocky Hill School, Jared Zimmer ’89 of East Greenwich, RI was a captain of the Boys’ Varsity Soccer and Boys’ Varsity Lacrosse teams. In 2013, Jared was the first head coach of the Cranston West High School Boys’ Varsity Lacrosse team. While at Cranston West, he received the 2013 Division III Coach of the Year Award, the 2016 Division II Sportsmanship Award, and the 2016 Rhode Island Lacrosse Officials Association’s Ted Gilmartin Sportsmanship Award. Jared also coaches youth lacrosse in East Greenwich and is a Rhode Island Lacrosse Official.

Lauren (Marsh) Bush ’02, Assistant Coach - Upper School Tennis

Rocky Hill School welcomes Lauren Bush ’02 of Saunderstown, RI back to the tennis program after she took a maternity leave to raise her son. Originally from Jamestown, RI, she was previously the head coach for Rocky Hill's Middle School Tennis team. Lauren has been the head coach for the Tiverton Girls’ Varsity Tennis team for the past nine years, and also has experience as a tennis instructor at the Conanicut Yacht Club in Jamestown and the Narragansett Recreation Department.
