Space Still Available at East Greenwich Summer Programs
Classes are filling up, but there's still time to sign up.

The following is from the East Greenwich Parks and Recreation Department:
Act fast and sign up now as classes are beginning to fill! The East Greenwich Parks and Recreation Department has spaces available for summer programs. The department is offering many great programs and activities for toddlers, children, teens, adults and seniors. As always preregistration is required for all participants in all programs. Take a look at what is offered.
Back by popular demand is the Boys Summer Basketball League. Two divisions will be formed based on the grade a player will be entering, 6th & 7th grade division or the 8th & 9th division. This league will take place Monday and Wednesdays nights. Ultimate Frisbee for middle and high school students to be held on Tuesday nights at the high school. Participants will work on new skills as well as play 7 on 7 games each session. Come learn from a golf-pro by taking Golf Lessons at the North Kingstown Golf Course on Wednesday or Thursday afternoons! This program is offered for children ages 6 & up. Tennis lessons for teens will be held on Tuesdays in the late afternoon.

Many toddler programs being offered this summer include Family Music Time for children ages 1-5 with a parent or caregiver. Wee Camp for 3-5 year olds is offered two days a week as well as Squeaky Sneakers for children 2-3 years old. The 4-6 year olds can participate in Sports R Us five days a week. For the more crafty toddlers there is Crafty Tots on Thursdays for 3-5 year olds and Imitating the Masters for 4-6 year olds on Friday mornings.
The department will also be offering many specialty camps for those entering 1-6 grades which run from 9-11am at the high school. The specialty camps include Chess, Magic, youth Baking and Cooking classes, Drama Games, 10-Minute Plays and a Summer Theater Production. For the more artistic youngsters there is Stitch & Sew with Felt, Back to Nature Crafts, Make a Mess with Paper Mache, Painted Wood, Garden Art, FlowerzArt and JewelzArt. For the inquisitive camper there is an Animation Creation, Light, Color & Technology, Minecraft Engineering and POW Science Camps. To round out the selection participants can choose from Dancing through the Ages, Little Yoga, Aim High Gymnastics, Basketball and Tennis camps.

At the conclusion of each Specialty Camp day, the Playground Program will be offered for children entering grades 1-6. This program will provide children with a fun atmosphere under supervision from 11:30-3:00pm. Children will get to participate in local trips, play games and enjoy weekly performances. The Big Trips are back on Thursdays to various locations.
Teen Specialty Camps will be offered this year for children entering 6th, 7th and 8th grades. Camps include Artists and Inventors, Animation Creation, Fire Academy 101 and CSI-EG, each class is sure to teach participants something exciting and innovative!
Adult exercise classes will be offered this summer including Body Conditioning, Stretch & Relax, Define Yourself, and Zumba. Take more than one class for a discounted rate! Adult tennis lessons and adult soccer will also be offered this summer. These programs are designed for all abilities.
