Swearing-In of New Council, School Committee, is Monday

The beginning of a new era in local government begins in East Greenwich on Monday.
The newly-elected members of the Town Council and School Committee will be sworn in at a ceremony at the Swift Community Center at 7 p.m.
A reception will follow the ceremony, which will formally bestow the power of office to Town Council members Suzanne McGee Cienki, Michael B. Isaacs, William C. Stone and Sean M. Todd; and School Committee members Michael Fain, David Osborne, Yan Sun and Mary Ellen Winters.

After a lengthy campaign, the inauguration of the new council is a chance to celebrate and congratulate the victories of the new local leaders.
It’s also when the new President and Vice President of each local board will be elected. Town Clerk Leigh Botello will call the special session to order and the council will vote for its leadership immediately afterwards.
