University Orthopedics Welcomes Dr. Raymond Hsu to Expanding Orthopedic Care Team

Providence, RI – University Orthopedics (UOI) today announced the addition of a new physician to their expanding team. Dr. Raymond Hsu, M.D. has joined the practice as an Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in foot and ankle surgery.

The physicians of University Orthopedics’ Foot and Ankle division specialize in a variety of surgical and nonsurgical problems. Dr. Hsu will join Dr. Brad Blankenhorn, helping to ensure that all patients
continue to receive the highest quality orthopedic care available.

Edward Akelman, M.D., president of University Orthopedics, believes Dr. Hsu is a tremendous addition to the expanding Foot and Ankle division: “Dr. Hsu is an experienced surgeon with extensive expertise in the treatment of foot and ankle injuries,” he said. “At University Orthopedics, our team
is comprised of sub-specialized surgeons, which ensures that all patients are treated by truly the best in their field.”

Dr. Hsu has been practicing orthopedic surgery for seven years. He is a fellowship trained, and American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery certified orthopedist, with a special concentration in trauma and foot and ankle. Dr. Hsu treats a wide range of injuries, both surgical and nonsurgical, including, foot and ankle injuries, acute and chronic conditions including fractures, ligament injuries, cartilage
injuries, Achilles and other tendon injuries, ankle arthritis, foot arthritis, ankle/hindfoot/midfoot/forefoot deformity, post traumatic deformity/arthritis, flatfeet (planovalgus), high arched (cavovarus)
feet, and bunions. He holds an undergraduate degree from University of Pennsylvania and an MD from Cornell University. Additionally, he completed his medical residency at Brown University, his Orthopedic
Trauma Fellowship at Brown University, and his Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Fellowship at the University of Utah. Dr. Hsu’s professional affiliations include: American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery; American Orthopaedic Association; American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society; Orthopaedic Trauma Association; Assistant Professor of Orthopedics at Brown University. Dr. Hsu resides in Providence, RI and will be seeing patients at University Orthopedic’s Butler and new East Greenwich, RI locations.
