Why all the Cops in EG? Hillary Clinton is Here

Hillary Clinton is in East Greenwich Wednesday for a fundraiser at the home of Democratic activist Mark Weiner.

As a result of the Presidential candidate and former First Lady’s visit to what is considered the “most Republican town in Rhode Island,” East Greenwich police have set up a roadblock in Weiner’s neighborhood.

Weiner is a well known political operative and close friend of the Clintons as well as the owner of Cranston’s Financial Innovations, which cranks out political swag for the Democratic National Convention, among other things.

He has also been Rhode Island’s delegate at the convention and a big fundraiser.

Today, Weiner is Rhode Island Democratic Party Chairman.

WPRI reported that donors were asked to contribute up to $2,700 for tonight’s event. Tickets started at $1,000.

The fun starts at around 5:30 p.m.
