East Providence, RI – Emily Sulanowski (Cranston, RI), a senior at Bay View Academy, has been selected as a winner of a $2,500 National Merit Scholarship. Emily is the valedictorian for the Class of 2014. She will attend Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in the fall.
According to the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, each year approximately 1.5 million students enter the program. Of those, only 16,000 were named semi-finalists this year and 15,000 went on to become finalists. Emily is one of only 8,000 students chosen nationwide for a prestigious Merit Scholarship Award.
