BAY VIEW ACADEMY STUDENT SIGNS LETTER OF INTENT FOR CREW AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME

East Providence, RI – Erin Dolan (North Kingstown RI), a senior at Bay View Academy and member of the rowing team, recently signed her letter of intent to join the crew program at the University of Notre Dame. Erin, who was offered an athletic scholarship to join the Fighting Irish, signed her letter at Bay View, joined by her coach, Rachel Schlosser (Providence, RI), Bay View’s former Crew coach, Albin Moser (East Providence, RI), and the Co-Athletic Directors, Cindy Neal (Cranston, RI) and Sue Reposa (Warwick, RI). Her father, Captain Matthew Dolan (USN), a Notre Dame alumnus from the class of 1983, her grandmother, Barbara Dolan (North Kingstown, RI), her mother, Claire Dolan, and her sister, Bay View junior, Abigail Dolan, also joined Erin at the table.
The National Letter of Intent (NLI) program is administered by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). According to the NCAA website, “the NLI is a voluntary program with regard to both institutions and student-athletes…By signing a National Letter of Intent, a prospective student-athlete agrees to attend the designated college or university for one academic year. Pursuant to the terms of the National Letter of Intent program, participating institutions agree to provide athletics financial aid to the student-athlete, provided he/she is admitted to the institution and is eligible for financial aid under NCAA rules.”
