East Providence, RI –Julia Pezzullo (Johnston, RI), a junior at Bay View Academy and a member of Bay View’s Environmental Club with H.O.P.E. (Help Our Planet Earth), wanted to get fellow students and friends involved on Earth Day this year. She organized a cleanup project along the FM Global property in Johnston, RI. Earth Day is officially celebrated on April 22nd, but the students gathered on April 24th (during their Spring Break) for two and a half hours to clean up the property. According to Julia, “I wanted the Environmental Club to take part in an Earth Day clean up in our neighborhood, because I feel every little thing we do has a big impact on our environment.”
Julia was joined in her efforts on April 24th by her siblings, Jake and Jessica, her cousin Ralph Fleming, and her friend Rachel Ludiciani, who are all from Johnston, RI. Bay View seniors Patricia Gauthier (Seekonk, MA) and Alexandra Indeglia (North Kingstown, RI), both in the Environmental Club, joined in for the clean up as well.
