BAY VIEW ACADEMY SWIM COACH TO BE INDUCTED INTO RHODE ISLAND AQUATICS HALL OF FAME

East Providence, RI – Bay View Academy’s swim program has benefited from the coaching power of Paul Brochu for fourteen years. During his tenure the team has won States, the Bay View Invitational and several sportsmanship awards. This May, Coach Paul Brochu will be recognized for his contributions to the sport of swimming with an induction to the Rhode Island Aquatics Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony will take place on May 2nd at Quidnessett Country Club.

Bay View’s swim team wrapped up its 2013-2014 season at the State meet in February, at which freshman, Kate Magill (Pawtucket, RI), took first place in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:09.93. She helped the Bay View Bengals earn their ninth place finish out of the 27 schools competing. The swim team was honored to win the Rhode Island Swim Officials Association Sportsmanship Award for their performance and conduct throughout the season.
