BAY VIEW ACADEMY UPPER SCHOOL PRINCIPAL HONORED BY RHODE ISLAND INTERSCHOLASTIC LEAGUE (RIIL)

East Providence, RI – Colleen Gribbin (Cumberland, RI), the principal of Bay View Academy’s Upper School, was recently honored by the RIIL Girls & Women in Sport Committee for being what the awards program listed as, “a strong voice for the promotion of female sports.” 

The ceremony took place on center court during halftime of the RIIL Division II Girls Basketball Championship at the Ryan Center on March 22nd. Colleen, who is a member of RIIL’s Principals Committee on Athletics and also the RIIL Director of Girl’s Tennis, was awarded the 2013 A. Lenore Cranston Award for Service. According to the program, this award is given to a woman who “works in the development and promotion of a variety of women’s sports programs as well as dedicating her service and efforts in the field of women’s sports.”
