Bay View Students Band Together with Bishop Hendricken to Support Hasbro Children's Hospital

Two Bay View Academy students, Christina DesVergnes (Junior, Attleboro, MA) and Elizabeth Furtado (Sophomore, East Providence, RI), joined a band called Pulled from the Corner to participate in Bishop Hendricken’s “Hawkstock” on May 31st. “Hawkstock,” a fundraising event featuring live performances by student music groups, as well as comedic improvisation, began in 2010 as an effort to raise money to support those affected by the earthquake in Haiti. This year, it was held in support of Hasbro Children’s Hospital. Between ticket sales, concession sales and donations, the one-night “Hawkstock” fundraiser brought in approximately $2,450. “Hawkstock” was organized and hosted this year by Ryan Cox (Warwick, RI), a senior from Bishop Hendricken, and Nick Casey (West Greenwich, RI), a junior from Bishop Hendricken. The evening featured thirteen different student performances, including the alternative rock back, Pulled from a Corner.

The following students are the members of Pulled from the Corner:

Christina DesVergnes, Bay View class of 2015, lead guitar, Attleboro, MA
