EPOCH Senior Living on Blackstone Boulevard will host multimedia discussion groups with Connected Living on Mondays in July at 1:30 p.m. Topics include:
• July in History Trivia, July 7 – From the signing of the Declaration of Independence to the Battle of Gettysburg to Neil Armstrong walk on the Moon, learn about historical milestones and holidays that happened during July.
• Bastille Day, July 14 – So many aspects of the American Revolution served as a model for the French that they gifted us with the Statue of Liberty in honor of “Liberté, Égalité Fraternité,” Liberty, Equality, Brotherhood. Learn about the customs of this lively French holiday.
• Tales of Talent and Discovery, July 21 – Learn about a few of the most famous new talents to rise and shine in our modern entertainment age. We’ll also look back at early radio and TV precursors such as the Major Bowes and Ted Mack Amateur Hours. Bring your own special talent to the show and we’ll make a star out of you!
• Ellis Island, July 28 – Does Ellis Island play a role in your family’s journey to the United States? Join us as we celebrate cultural heritage and document our unique family histories. Share your stories and learn about the resources available on the Internet to help you research and document your heritage.
