Conveyer Belt Fire Closes Pellet Production Business
Firefighters extinguished a blaze at Inferno Wood Pellet on Monday afternoon.

A Rumford company that produces wood pellets used in stoves remains closed after a sparks ingited on a conveyer belt on Monday afternoon, according to reports from the East Providence Fire Department.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire at Inferno Wood Pellet that traveled to a storage area. Five workers were displaced from the Ferris Avenue location; no injuries were reported.
"We try to avoid a dust explosion," Captain Oscar Elmasian said.
