District 65 Votes to be 'Reread'

Less than 100 votes cast in gave Democrat Gregg Amore the win in Rhode Island House District 65 over opponents Timothy Chapman and James Miller.

That small margin is reason for Chapman to challenge the ballot counts. According to members of the Rhode Island Board of Elections, Chapman requested a recount but will only get a reread on Monday.

Members will reinsert memory packs into voting machines to determine the ballot count, said Stephen Quirk of the board.

According to Tuesday's Rhode Island Board of Election tallies, Amore defeated his two opponents with 845 votes (40.5 percent of the vote). Timothy Chapman received 784 votes (37.6 percent of the vote). James Miller received 456 votes (21.9 percent of the vote).
