Rescue crews reportedly transported an East Providence Police officer to the hospital after he was hit near the I-195 exit off Warren Avenue while riding a motorcycle. According to Sgt. John Andrews, the officer was not killed but sustained injuries. Police refrained from releasing his name.  The area of the accident was barricaded by rescue vehicles.
