
An East Providence woman is $10,000 richer after matching four numbers and the PowerBall in Thursday night’s PowerBall drawing.
The Rhode Island Lottery Commission said in a release that the woman plans to use the money to buy a car for her son who just got his driver’s license.
“She has yet to tell him, but she’s sure he’ll be happy to hear the news,” the lottery commission said in a release.

The winning ticket was bought at Four Corners Food Mart at 327 Warren Ave. in East Providence.

She wagered $0.50 on five 4-digit combo bets with the number 1 1 1 4 to win $3,125 on each of the five tickets. All tickets were for the August 5th Evening Draw. The number combination she played represents her father’s birthday. The winning tickets were purchased at Convenience Plus, 1501 Atwood Ave., Johnston.
