EPLAC, EP Local Advisory Committee for Special Education Hosts RIPIN Workshop at Wed. Dec. 2nd Meeting
EPLAC Hosts RIPIN Workshop; Basic Rights in Special Education, December 2nd, 6:30pm @ Martin Middle School Library
The next meeting of EPLAC, the East Providence Local Advisory Committee for Special Education will be held Wednesday December 2nd at 6:30pm in the Martin Middle School Library.
This meeting will feature a free Rhode Island Parent Information Network, RIPIN workshop, Basic Rights in Special Education (Pertaining to Children and Youth Ages 3-21)
Navigating special education and related services for children with disabilities is the focus of this workshop. Participants will receive an overview of parent’s rights, responsibilities and will learn the laws that affect special education in Rhode Island.

What is EPLAC?
The East Providence Local Advisory Committee For Special Education (EPLAC) is a committee comprised of parents of children with disabilities along with administrators, teachers and others with a concern for our children. We meet throughout the school year to share information and concerns of educational issues.
Our committee’s goals are:
-To enable parents of special education children to be effective
in their advocacy efforts
-To jointly advocate for all children with special needs
-To aid the East Providence School Department in its efforts to
provide quality education for all students
-To provide each other with a strong network of support
Fall Membership Drive is now taking place! Become a member of our team!
Meetings are the last Wednesday of each month from 6:30-8:30 pm at the Martin Middle School Library.
November meeting has been moved to December 2nd.
