JOHNSTON, RI JULY 26, - Rhode Island’s premiere charity fashion show “Catwalk for Campground,” will present its 7th annual extravaganza to raise money for The Autism Project Summer Camp. The event takes place October 24, 2012, at the Providence Marriot Hotel, 1 Orms St. in Providence, RI.

 

The combination fashion show-dinner brings to together local designers to provide scholarships for socio-economically disadvantaged children to attend the Autism Project’s summer camp. ‘Move, Think, Create and Communicate” held every August at Cub World Camp Ground 704 Buckhill Road Pascoag, RI. Tickets for the fashion show cost $50 per person

 

The evening begins with cocktails from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by a full-course meal and fashion show at 7:00 pm.

 

The Autism Project is a non-profit organization comprised of parents, teachers, speech and language pathologists, occupational therapists and other related professionals dedicated to create a comprehensive system of services including adult and professional training sessions and social groups for children and teens on the autism spectrum.

 

The Autism Project impacts over 10,000 RI residents per year including individuals with Autism and Asperger Syndrome, family members, school and medical personnel, and community members.

 

Autism is a complex developmental disability that usually appears during the first three years of a child’s life, impacting brain development causing difficulties in verbal and nonverbal communication, social interactions and leisure or play activities.
