Ex-Police Chief, Late Chief Justice to be Inducted Into Hall of Fame
The two East Providence men are part of the second class of the RI Criminal Justice Hall of Fame.
A former chief of the East Providence Police Department and the late chief justice of the RI Supreme Court, who lived in Riverside, will be inducted into the Rhode Island Criminal Justice Hall of Fame.
E.P. Police Chief (Ret.) George Rocha and Judge Joseph R. Weisberger, who died several months ago, will be inducted in a ceremony on May 2. It will take place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Warwick.
East Providence Police Chief Joseph Tavares announced the details of the ceremony on Tuesday.

Tickets for the induction ceremony are $30. The deadline for tickets is April 22.
The Criminal Justice Hall of Fame is a nonprofit organization that was started by Attorney General Peter Kilmartin about a year ago “to honor outstanding professionals who have worked to improve and uphold the principles of the criminal justice system in Rhode Island.”
