Expect Freezing Rain for Commute

Snow is forecast to begin around 1 pm switching to rain from 4 to 7pm

The temperatures have finally climbed out of the basement, but not far enough to prevent a little snow from falling this afternoon, which could turn into freezing rain just in time for the evening commute.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the afternoon and a Hazardous Weather Outlook in effect till 6 am Tuesday.

Beginning at around 1 pm, snow -- about 1-2 inches -- is expected to start, changing throughout the day to sleet, then freezing rain, which is expected to begin between 4 and 7 pm throughout northern Rhode Island and northern Connecticut.
