Firefighters Save Chimney Sweeper Trapped on Rooftop

East Providence firefighters saved a man on Sixth Street on Wednesday afternoon.

A man completing chimney work on the roof of a Sixth Street house was rescued by personnel Wednesday afternoon after slippery tiles made maneuvering to safety an impossible task.

According to Fire Chief Joseph Klucznik, the man was brought to safety using man power and a roof ladder.

"The rain made the tiles harder to navigate," he said.
