Gluten Free Eating on the East Bay of Rhode Island

For those of us who live with Celiac Disease or have a allergy to gluten finding places to eat out can be difficult.  Just this past week I fould two local places I can add to my arsenal of "safe" places to eat.

The Blue Kangeroo Cafe in Barrington offers gluten free pastries, bagels, breads, wraps and other lunch or dinner items. The staff is very considerate when asked to check if a item contains gluten or not.

Traffords Restaurant in Warren offers a good selection on their lunch and dinner menu for gluten free patrons.

Billy's Restaurant in Barrington doesn't have a specific gluten free menu unfortunately. When I told them of my Celiac Disease and asked about my food being prepared gluten free I was told the chef was also gluten free, so he could prepare my plate properly. I had no issues at all with my meal.

Davenports in East Providence offers a gluten free menu. I've eaten here quite often and I can honestly say the gluten free rolls used for their burgers are darn good! They need to educate their wait staff somewhat more on what gluten free means, but other than that its all good.

I hope you find this short list helpful. I'm seeing more and more restaurants offering gluten free options on their menus. I will continue to post new finding after I've tried them.
