Interim Superintendent Hired

Monday morning is the first day of work for John DeGoes, newly hired interim superintendent of the the East Providence School District.

He was chosen from a small group of candidates chosen by a , according to reports from East Bay Newspapers. He is expected to be introduced to the rest of the administrative staff today in the Burnside Building.

DeGoes is credited with working in the district as a systems super during the '90s. He's also worked as interim superintendent in Central Falls. He paused his retirement that began in 2007 to accept his new position.

He replaces Edward Daft, who at Barrington High School.
