Kenneth D. Clarke, of Whitaker Avenue, Rumford, East Providence, died peacefully on Friday, Dec. 7, 2012. He was 82.
He was the husband of Jeanne E. (Harwood) Clarke. Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Kenneth D. and Ethel (Gordon) Clarke. He lived in Rumford for 65 years.
Clarke was a pressman for the Providence Journal Company and the former Providence Gravure for 25 years before retiring in 1983. He attended the Rhode Island School of Design. An artist, he painted with oils and water colors.
Besides his wife of 50 years, he is survived by a son; Kenneth D. Clarke Jr. of Palm Bay, Fla., a sister; Gladys Murino of Rumford, a brother; Gordon Clarke of Satellite Beach, Fla., two grandchildren; Shelby and Dalton Clarke, and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be private. Burial will be held in Moshassuck Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME in Riverside.
