East Providence, RI, October 16, 2014—The East Bay Toastmasters Club, on behalf of Toastmasters International, awarded club member Ken Wadland with the prestigious Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) award at the club’s October 16 meeting held at Linn Healthcare Center in East Providence. Toastmasters International bestows the DTM award to members as its highest award in recognition of both communication and leadership skills. To be eligible for this award, a member must have achieved an increasingly challenging series of seven communication and leadership awards including an Advanced Communication Gold award and Advanced Leader Silver award.
“One Distinguished Toastmaster award is not the end of the line. I’m already working on my second one,” said Mr. Wadland who joined East Bay Toastmasters Club in January 2013 and is involved in several clubs throughout Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts.
Toastmasters International has recognized East Bay Toastmasters Club as a President’s Distinguished Club for the past five years in recognition of the club’s achievement of 10 goals across the areas of education, training, and administration. Awards such as DTM contribute to the club earning President’s Distinguished Club status.
