Man, 30, Charged With DUI After Crash
An East Providence man drive into a fence while exiting Route 195 at exit 6.
An East Providence man faces several charges, including drunk driving, after he crashed his vehicle into a fence while exiting Route 195.
Hudson S. Carvalho, 30, of 14 Ide Ave., was charged by East Providence police after he drove off the off ramp at exit 6 toward Warren Avenue and slammed into a fence on the left side of the road at about 2:20 am on Dec. 22. He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital by EMTs for injuries not considered serious.
Carvalho admitted to police that he had been drinking, according to the police report. He also failed a field sobriety test, according to police. He refused to take a Breathalyzer test to check his blood alcohol level.

Besides the DUI, Carvalho was charged with a refusal second offense, failing to maintain control of his vehicle, speeding and driving with a suspended license, according to the police report.
He was given a date to appear in District Court.
