Man Found With Bloodied Hand in Vacant Maple Avenue Home
Officers charged Luis Vertentes, 34, of 53 Maple Ave. with breaking and entering and vandalism.

East Providence police allegedly found a man with a bloodied hand in a vacant Maple Avenue home on Sunday, April 14, after a caller reported a break-in.
According to police reports, officers entered the home through a front porch. They noticed a broken window with blood on the shards.
Officers called to the man, later identified as Luis Vertentes, 34, of 53 Maple Ave., to exit the building through door. His right hand was bleeding. The man said he could not open the door but that he originally entered through the locked entranceway.

When questioned, Vertentes said the vacant property will be sold in an auction; he was interested in buying the property.
After searching the house, police found a bloody napkin in an upstairs closet and footprints in a bathroom tub.
